Discussion:
The Flash Flood Watch continues through 8pm for Ashe and Watauga counties. The slow moving upper low will continue to lift north today causing heavy rain and storms. Localized flooding remains a concern, especially in the mountains and foothills where the ground is already saturated from all the rain that has already fallen. Rain and storms will become more scattered this afternoon, but plenty of moisture is still in place, so any storm that forms will likely produce heavy downpours. Low end severe threat with damaging wind and hail possible. Scattered shower and storms will continue through Wednesday as the low continues to lift north away from the area.
High pressure will fill in Thursday, bringing more sun and pushing temps into the mid 80s. Humidity levels will remain high through the weekend with temps making a run toward 90 by Firday afternoon. A cold front will bring more scattered storm chances Friday into Saturday, before temperatures back into the low 80s by Sunday afternoon.
