70-year-old Bobby Lee Collins is charged with the murder of his wife in Iredell Co.
IREDELL CO., NC – A man is in jail charged with murder after the Iredell County Sheriff says he called 911 and said he shot his wife.
Sheriff Darren Campbell says the man told emergency communications that he shots his wife at 7 a.m. Friday, then locked the door of their home and drove to the intersection of Powell Bridge Road and Harmony Highway.
Deputies found 70-year-old Bobby Lee Collins sitting in his truck at the intersection and took him into custody.
At the same time, deputies went to his home on Powell Bridge Road in Harmony and found his wife, Iona Collins, dead.
Bobby Collins is being held without bond.
