Edwin Peacock sworn-in to District 6 seat left vacant after Tariq Bokhari’s departure

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Republican Edwin Peacock is officially on the job, representing Charlotte City Council District Six. At his swearing-in ceremony Tuesday, he said, “I look forward to serving District Six and all the citizens of Charlotte. It’s an honor and a privilege.”

City council voted Monday to appoint Peacock to Tariq Bokhari’s vacant seat. Bokhari stepped down to serve in the Trump Administration. Peacock says his biggest priorities are the same as council, specifically naming public safety, economic development, transportation, housing, neighborhood development and the environment.

Peacock also says he has no intentions of filing to run in the November elections.
