ROCK HILL, SC – A man charged with murder of his pregnant girlfriend and the death of her unborn child is back in Rock Hill.
41-year-old Pedro Mondragon-Ramirez is set to have a bond hearing on Wednesday.
He’s accused of stabbing 37-year-old Leonor Alpizar multiple times inside a home on Iris Circle on Friday night.
Police in Charlotte arrested him during a traffic stop early Saturday morning.
Mondragon-Ramirez was extradited on Tuesday and is now locked up on the York County Detention Center.

ROCK HILL, SC – A man is accused of stabbing a pregnant woman he was in a relationship with during an argument in Rock Hill.
Police say the stabbing happened around 10:30 Friday night at a home on Iris Circle.
Officers found 37-year-old Leonor Alpizar inside the home. EMS took her to the hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.
Police say the suspect, 41-year-old Pedro Mondragon-Ramirez, took off in the victim’s car.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police arrested Mondragon-Ramirez following a chase early Saturday morning.
He is being held in the Mecklenburg County Jail as a fugitive from South Carolina. Court documents show Mondragon-Ramirez is being held on an ICE detainer.
Rock Hill police have issued warrants for his arrest on charges of murder, death or injury of a child in utero due to the commission of a violent crime and possession of a knife during a crime of violence.
