Discussion:
Early morning storms are moving out quickly as drier air sweeps in behind the cold front. Temps will actually climb into the mid to upper 80s this afternoon, thanks to adiabatic heating as air sinks off the mountains. Winds will kick up later in the day with gusts 20-30 mph across the area nad 35-40 mph in the mountains. It will be feeling like early spring with low humidity and cooler temps in the mid 70s to low 80s for daytime highs, while lows will fall into the 50s beginning Thursday. The forecast will be beautiful for all outdoor plans for the holiday weekend.
Unsettled weather creeps back into the forecast by Sunday into Monday as humidity levels begin to rise. We’ll see the return of afternoon scattered showers and storms — not a washout — but important to keep in mind if you have any travel or barbecue plans on Memorial Day.
