AAA is activating “Tow to Go” in Charlotte to help stranded drivers and to prevent impaired driving tragedies this Memorial Day Weekend.
Tow to Go offers a free ride for drivers who find themselves too impaired to drive. It is available for both AAA members and non-members.
For Tow to Go service, call (855) 2-TOW-2-GO or (855) 286-9246. When someone calls, a tow truck will be dispatched to take the individual and their vehicle to a safe location within a 10-miles radius.
“AAA’s ‘Tow to Go’ program is designed to remove impaired drivers from the road before disaster strikes,” said Tiffany Wright, spokesperson for AAA – The Auto Club Group in the Carolinas. “While this service is here for emergencies, we strongly urge everyone to plan ahead for a safe ride home, because making responsible choices can stop a tragedy from happening.”
Tow to Go is active from 6 p.m. Friday, May 23 to 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 27. Appointments cannot be scheduled in advance.
