CHARLOTTE – The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will retire the North Mecklenburg Village Rider and the Davidson Shuttle services on July 7.
CATS Micro, the newly launched on-demand public shared ride service is replacing the other services.
It will be available for riders in Huntersville, Cornelius and Davidson.
CATS is offering fare-free rides on CATS Micro from June 1β7.
This is the first of 19 total microtransit zones planned.

- Tap βPlan,β enter your starting point and destination.
- If your trip is within the Micro service zone and hours of operation, CATS will appear as an option.
- Request your ride – wait times are typically 30 minutes or less.
