Transportation services to transition to CATS Micro in Mecklenburg County

CHARLOTTE – The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will retire the North Mecklenburg Village Rider and the Davidson Shuttle services on July 7.

CATS Micro, the newly launched on-demand public shared ride service is replacing the other services.

It will be available for riders in Huntersville, Cornelius and Davidson.

CATS is offering fare-free rides on CATS Micro from June 1–7.

This is the first of 19 total microtransit zones planned.

How to Ride:

  1. Download the CATS-Pass app.
  2. Tap “Plan,” enter your starting point and destination.
  3. If your trip is within the Micro service zone and hours of operation, CATS will appear as an option.
  4. Request your ride – wait times are typically 30 minutes or less.
