Carolina Ascent stars win awards in inaugural season

Carolina Ascent midfielder Jill Aguilera and goalkeeper Meagan McClelland each made history, winning inaugural awards for the 2024-25 USL Super League season.

McClelland brought home the Golden Glove award after posting a 0.97 goals-against average in 18 appearances for Carolina. She finished the season with 41 saves and a 70.2% save percentage.

Aguilera earned the Golden Playmaker award for recording seven assists and two goals.

Carolina finished its inaugural season with a 13-6-9 record for 48 points, the most in the USL Super League. The Ascent led the league with 45 goals.

Carolina faces Fort Lauderdale United FC in the semifinals on Sunday, June 8 at 7 p.m. at American Legion Memorial Stadium.
