Tropical Weather Outlook Kml

It’s that time of year again.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring the Carolina coastline for potential tropical development by the end of the week. Right now, the NHC is giving this region a 10% chance of becoming a named storm over the next seven days; its window for cyclogenesis likely much shorter. Regardless of development, a broad area of low pressure will likely sweep along our coast between Wednesday night and Saturday morning, bringing scattered storms to many North and South Carolina beaches. While rain chances look isolated at best for the eastern half of the WCCB Charlotte viewing area, clouds and cooler air will wrap around this system as it moves to the northeast.

Expect higher rip current risks along the southeastern Atlantic Coast over the next several days as this system progresses.
