PINEVILLE, N.C. — Authorities say a person was shot after a fight broke out during an illegal street takeover in Pineville.
Multiple 911 calls just after 4am on Sunday, June 8th led police to the Park 51 Shops on Park Road, across from the Atrium Health hospital.
Pineville Police say multiple vehicles were driving reckless by doing donuts and burnouts in the parking lot.
Authorities say an argument during the street takeover led to shots being fired. One person sitting in a vehicle was shot in the leg, according to Pineville Police. They suffered life threatening injuries but are currently listed in stable condition, according to a press release.
Police arrested one person in connection to the fight. However, the shooting suspect is still at large. Anyone with information on this street takeover and shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-889-TIPS.
