CHARLOTTE, NC – A 12-year-old boy riding a dirt bike in northwest Charlotte died on Sunday after police say the driver of a truck hit him.
The accident happened around 1 pm at the intersection of Oakdale Road and Auten Road.
Police say they found Mike Malanda unresponsive in the roadway when they arrived.
They also found his damaged dirt bike and a damaged truck.
Investigators say Malanda was riding his dirt bike on the road when the truck hit him.
There is no word if the driver of the truck is facing any charges.
