Pineville hosts its’ first-ever pride celebration

PINEVILLE, NC — History will be made this summer in Pineville as the town hosts its first- ever Pride celebration on Saturday, June 21, bringing the community together for a vibrant night of love, acceptance, and unity.

The event, themed “Pride Glow Party: Silent Disco,” will take place from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM on the Town Hall Lawn at 505 Main Street and is open to all ages.

The celebration is being organized and hosted by Sara Longstreet, owner of Pineville’s local ice cream shop, Carolina Scoops, and leader of the Downtown Merchants Association.
Longstreet, a passionate advocate for inclusivity and community connection, says this event represents a major step forward for Pineville.

“This is more than a dance party—it’s a milestone,” said Longstreet.

“We’re showing that Pineville is a town where everyone belongs, and love is celebrated out loud and in color.” Set against a glowing neon backdrop and featuring the high-energy fun of a silent disco, the Pride Glow Party promises an unforgettable night. Attendees will enjoy music through wireless headphones, a photo booth, food trucks, bubble & fog machine, Pride merchandise for sale and a family-friendly atmosphere that encourages participation from all members of the community.

The event will also spotlight Pineville’s commitment to diversity, unity and inclusion. Festivities will include opportunities for dancing, community connection, and celebrating the vibrant LGBTQ+ community of Pineville and beyond.

“Whether you are part of the LGBTQ+ community or a proud ally, we invite you to come light up the night with us and celebrate Pride,” added Longstreet.
