MONROE, NC – A 66-year-old man is recovering after he was stabbed several times in Monroe over the weekend.
Police say they received a call about a man covered in blood walking a path near Skyway Drive and Winchester Avenue around 5 pm on Saturday.
Officers found Richard Adams with several stab wounds and paramedics took him to the hospital.
Investigators say they followed the trail of blood to a home on Miller Street.
They arrested 40-year-old Shaunte Waters. She’s charged with attempted murder, assault with deadly weapon with intent to kill, and felony obstruction of justice.
Waters is being held without bond at the Union County Detention Center. There’s no information on what led up to the stabbing.
Police are still looking for a second suspect, 33-year-old Antonio Wilson. He has an outstanding warrant for accessory after the fact.
