CHARLOTTE, NC – Tomorrow is Juneteenth, a very important holiday for the African American community.
Juneteenth is a day when enslaved people were in Galveston Texas were informed of their freedom, 2 years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.
The Harvey B. Gantt Center located in UptownΒ will be hosting a series of events to highlight the importance of Juneteenth and black culture.
We sat down with the Center’s Director of Marketing and Communications, Ingrid Travis James to discuss the family friendly programming.
