16-year-old in hospital recovering after drive-by-shooting in Monroe

MONROE, N.C. – A 16-year-old is in the hospital recovering after a drive-by shooting in Monroe. Police believe the teen is one of the suspects, and accidently got shot by an accomplice.

Police say multiple people got out of a car on Skywatch Lane around 11:30 Monday night, and started shooting into two homes. Nobody inside those homes got hit. Minutes later, police were called to Atrium Union for a 16-year-old who had been shot.

Investigators believe an accomplice accidently shot the teen during the shooting. He is said to be in stable condition.
