The Charlotte Hornets have selected Kon Knueppel out of Duke with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Knueppel joins Cooper Flagg as the two Blue Devils to be taken in the top four picks of the draft.
Knueppel made the second-team All-ACC and ACC All-Freshman Team for Duke in 2025. He averaged 14.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game in 39 contests. He finished the year with seven 20-point outings and helped guide Duke to a Final Four.
The 19-year-old forward was a very efficient shooter during his lone season with the Blue Devils. He shot 47.9% from the field, 40.6% from three, and 91.4% from the free throw line, the seventh best in the nation last season.
Knueppel was a five-star recruit out of Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee where he led the school to a 30-0 record and a state championship as a senior.
Knueppel joins a Hornets team that is in dire need of turning things around quickly. Charlotte hasn’t made the postseason since the 2015-16 season and have won 40 total games the past two seasons.
The Hornets are fortunate to have LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller locked up for the foreseeable future. However, the Hornets will be looking to turn things around in short order.
