CMPD: No major incidents in Uptown July 4th celebrations

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD says the Uptown fireworks “SkyShow” went off mostly without a hitch this year.

The department says the “strategic operations plan” they put together ahead of time was successful, ensuring the safety of those watching the display that followed the Charlotte Knights game Thursday night.

Officers say only three arrests were made. An estimated 12,000 spectators enjoyed this year’s SkyShow.
