Arrest made after officer shot in leg in Uptown Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An arrest has been made after a CMPD officer was shot in Uptown Charlotte early Sunday morning. It happened while the officer was responding to a disturbance call on North Church Street.
He ended up in a fight with the suspect, and that’s when a gun went off, hitting the officer in the leg. The suspect took off, but was later caught by other officers.
He’s being identified as 20-year-old Demetrius Bristow. He’s being held behind bars without bond. The officer involved is still recovering and has not been identified.
