York Co. deadly shooting ruled as self-defense, no charges filed
YORK CO., S.C. – The York County Sheriff’s Office says it will not press charges against the man who shot and killed 69-year-old Joseph Lewis at a Dollar General store last Thursday.
After talking to witnesses, officials say Lewis threatened and punched the man who shot him before he was shot.
Now, the Sixteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office has determined the shooting happened in self-defense.
