CHARLOTTE, NC – A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer is charged with communicating threats following a confrontation.
A woman called 911 Tuesday night, saying she had been threatened by another woman and that the suspect’s family member pointed a gun at her.
CMPD says the woman who made the threat is Officer Jazmin Featherstone, who was off-duty at the time.
According to a criminal summons, the woman says Featherstone said she would “(expletive) her up and reveal personal information because she is the police.”
CMPD says detectives interviewed all three women, after which the victim decided to pursue criminal charges.
Officer Featherstone is on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
The officer has worked for the department since 2023 and is currently assigned to the Eastway Division.
A warrant was also issued for Shawn Marie Rice for assault by pointing a gun, damage to property and communicating threats.
