CHESTER CO., SC – A suspected kidnapper is in the hospital after the person he held hostage managed to shoot him, according to deputies.
Chester County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a home on Oak Hill Road around 1 a.m. on Wednesday.
Deputies found a victim who said Eric Pressley assaulted them and held them hostage since 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
The victim told deputies they were able to get a hold of a gun and shot Pressley several times before he took their car.
Deputies spotted the stolen car at the QT gas station in Richburg. They say the driver took off and led them on a chase into York County.
York County Deputies and the Highway Patrol joined the chase, which ended near Piedmont Medical Center in Fort Mill.
Investigators took Pressley into custody and then took him to the hospital.
He faces several charges once he’s released, including assault and battery, grand larceny and kidnapping.
