Study: Walking fast may help you live longer
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Early-morning mall walkers may be on to something. New research says fast walking at least 15 minutes a day could be the key to living longer.
Thousands of people filled out a questionnaire about their exercise habits, average time working out, walking speed, and health. 16 years later, they did another questionnaire. Analysis of the data showed study participants who fast-walked for at least 15 minutes every day saw a nearly 20 percent reduction in premature death.
