U.S. Bank to celebrate new South End branch in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C.  – U.S. Bank is announcing the grand opening of its new South End branch, located at 1801 South Blvd in Charlotte. The branch features a new look and feel, along with award-winning design enhancements to improve the banking experience for customers.

The new location gives U.S. Bank seven branches in the Charlotte area, broadening a retail banking presence that launched in uptown in 2019 and now extends as far north as Huntersville and as far south as Blakeney. The bank plans to add its next branch in the area at 1640 Matthews Township Parkway in Matthews. The branch is expected to be completed in 2026, while the bank continues to explore additional Charlotte locations.

“We are thrilled to welcome the South End location to our branch portfolio in Charlotte,” said Heather Kesner, U.S. Bank branch and small business executive for the East region. “With seven branches and another one on the horizon in 2026, U.S. Bank is committed to the Queen City. The resources we offer, including business banking, wealth management, corporate and commercial banking, and mortgage, match the incredible growth in the greater Charlotte area.

In addition to opening new branches, U.S. Bank is committed to adding new bankers to serve business banking and wealth management clients in the region. The bank is nearly doubling its business banking staff to 23 bankers and support personnel who are focused on serving businesses with annual revenue between $2.5 million and $25 million. U.S. Bank also plans to hire wealth management staff at the Matthews branch, joining wealth management teams in SouthPark and Huntersville.

To celebrate the new branch, a grand opening celebration will be held on Wednesday Aug. 20, from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Noon. During the event, U.S. Bank will donate $5,000 to YWCA Central Carolinas, a non-profit organization that provides a safe place for women and families facing instability. Another donation of $5,000 will be made to Johnson C. Smith University, a premier liberal arts HBCU that provides students with high-quality academic, social, personal, professional and spiritual learning experiences. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Johnson C. Smith University band will perform.
