Fall weather rushes in for the back to school forecast
Isolated showers on Sunday leads to fall weather next week
It’s back to school Monday for many across the WCCB Charlotte viewing area, and Mother Nature got the memo! Now before we get excited about the beautiful weather coming in a couple of days, let’s discuss the near term. All things considered, Sunday will be nice, especially for any morning and lunchtime activities. By the afternoon, I do expect a couple of quick showers to cross from west to east as a cold front works through. After this, we clear out with an incredible week of beautiful weather ahead! High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s in the Piedmont Sunday and Monday. Highs in the low to mid 70s will be common in the High Country the next 2 days.
Monday night is when the cooler and more comfortable air begins to filter into the Carolinas. Tuesday through Thursday will feature weather that is about as good as you can get in late August. Highs will be near 80 in the Piedmont, and close to 70 in the High Country. On top of that, rain chances will be near 0% and humidity will be at a comfortable level. Morning lows could even dip below 60 in the Piedmont a few mornings. With Charlotte Mecklenburg schools starting back on Monday, the Starbucks fall menu dropping, and high school football right here on WCCB Charlotte, next week will feel like fall!
Rain chances could begin to rise a bit towards next weekend, but the models are far from agreeing on that right now. The tropics also look quiet with no threats to the United States over the next 7 days!
