A beautiful Labor Day but changes loom

Labor day weather doesn’t get much better than today. Highs will be near 80 in the Piedmont with plentiful sun, and low humidity. The High country will feel like fall with sun and highs near 70. As nice as these highs are, wait till you walk out the door Tuesday morning and feel the lows in the upper 50s in the Piedmont, and the 40s in the High Country! This same trend continues through Wednesday, although temperatures will slightly warm each morning and afternoon.  Make sure to get outside the next couple of days and enjoy this weather! While doing so keep the UV index on your mind as the early September sun angle will be more than enough to burn! 

Although September is the start of meteorological fall, summer looks to return later this week. By Thursday the humidity creeps back in and temperatures get back to the mid and upper 80s. Afternoon thunderstorm chances also rise a bit, especially in the High Country. Although the rain chances look to once again fall off by Friday. This warmer and muggier pattern looks to hold into the start of this weekend. Models do show a cold front approaching, but the cooler air associated with it likely doesn’t arrive until Sunday at the earliest.
