BURKE CO., N.C. β An arrest has been made in a double homicide house fire in Burke County.
Investigators say 51-year-old Michael Moretz has been charged with two counts of felony murder in connection with the deaths of 63-year-old Michael Hallyburton and 76-year-old Joseph Byrd Jr.
Last week, a cash reward was offered for information in regards to the investigation. The fatal house fire happened on Aug. 31 on Swink Street.Β
Deputies later confirmed that the victims both suffered gunshot wounds at the scene prior to the house fire.
