Rock Hill native and Cowboys DE Jadeveon Clowney arrested for trespassing

Rock Hill native and Dallas Cowboys defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was arrested last Friday for trespassing, according to the Rock Hill Police Department.

On Friday, Sept. 12, police said Clowney attempted to park at in an apartment complex on Constitution Boulevard across the street from where a high school football game was taking place. Clowney indicated that he was probably attending the football game and that it didn’t matter if he was or not because he said his aunt lived at the complex, police said.

Police said Clowney could not park in the complex and that his vehicle would be towed. Officers requested Clowney’s identification, which he refused to provide, according to the police report.

Clowney was then arrested and charged with Trespassing and Failure To Identify.

Clowney signed with the Cowboys two days later on Sept. 14 on a one-year, $3.5 million contract. He is set to make his season debut this Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

Clowney was a five-star recruit out of Rock Hill and was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. He played for the Carolina Panthers last season, notching 46 tackles and 5.5 sacks in 14 games.
