Massage therapist accused of secretly recording customer in south Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, NC — A disturbing discovery, a customer said she was being recorded by her massage therapist.
According to CMPD, the incident happened on Monday at Silent Moment Spa in south Charlotte.
Police arrested Jarrod Crawford. He’s charged with felony secret peeping.
Arrest records show the victim told officers she noticed a flashing light and a cellphone while getting dressed. The report writes the woman air dropped the videos to herself and called police. CMPD said one of the videos shows the victim topless.
Also in the report, Crawford admits to setting up the phone to see her naked. Going on to say “it was a bad decision, I was wrong.”
Crawford told police he has worked at Silent Moment Spa across from the Park Road Shopping Center since march 2024.
We went to the spa to find out if Crawford is still employed, employees told us they couldn’t answer questions.
Multiple customers we talked to didn’t know about Crawford’s arrest and seemed disturbed.
In the arrest report Crawford also told officers he was fired from Massage Envy in Gastonia after two women accused him of touching them with his crotch. Crawford denied the allegation. He said it was his lotion bag.
WCCB did some digging and found the North Carolina board of massage and bodywork therapy did an investigation into those claims at Massage Envy and another incident in May with Crawford’s mobile massage business.
Crawford was placed on probation for a year in late August as a result of the investigation.
In a statement the massage board tells WCCB:
“An LMBT can continue to practice massage and bodywork therapy while on probation.
The Board office is currently working on contacting all parties involved in the recent incident that occurred at Silent Moment Massage since we were just made aware of Mr. Crawford’s arrest this morning.”
