Next weather maker in sight
Cold front approaches mid-week
The next weather maker is in sight for the Charlotte area. Before we get there, expect a pleasant couple of days ahead. Highs in the low 80s in the Piedmont, and low 70s in the High Country will be a common sight through Wednesday. Expect a comfortable air mass on Sunday, but humidity will slowly rise over the following days with a full-blown muggy air mass by Wednesday. Rain chances also look to be less than 20% through Tuesday.
Wednesday a cold front approaches from the west and will bring at least the chance of a couple of showers and storms. Rain chances could linger on Thursday, but right now most data suggests Thursday will break the back of the warmer temperatures, and return us to fall-like weather with highs stuck in the 60s! Early indication is that the start of next weekend looks terrific for any outdoor activities with very low end rain chances and seasonable to below-average temperatures.
As nice as the dry weather is for all of those fall activities, we will likely see worsening drought concerns with Wednesday’s rain chances not looking very plentiful. This time of year we also historically see rising wildfire concerns, so we will need to keep an eye on things!
