Measles cases hit record levels as outbreaks continue
Measles outbreaks across the nation, including one in South Carolina, continue to grow.
There’s a record number of cases right now. The situation started in Texas back in August, and since then, there have been hundreds of new cases.
The CDC says an average of 27 new measles patients are being reported each week.
For the year, 1,500 have been confirmed so far. That is the highest total since measles was declared eliminated in the U.S. a quarter of a century ago.
