Wonderful start to weekend, scattered rain chances Sunday
Most of the moisture from Sunday's system will get held up west of the Continental Divide, but scattered showers will make their way into the Piedmont to close out the weekend.
Happy Friday! The final day of the workweek is off to a chilly start; many spots across the WCCB Charlotte viewing area are once again seeing their coldest mornings since April 17th. Temperatures will warm into the 60s and 70s across the board this Friday afternoon to go along with plentiful sunshine. Expect more of the same on Saturday, but temperatures will reach near 80° across much of the Piedmont and Foothills as warm winds from the southwest swell into the Carolinas.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end; a robust storm system approaches from the west on Sunday, bumping up cloud cover and rain chances as we close out the weekend. While most of the moisture remains west of the Continental Divide, scattered showers and a few storms will find their way into the WCCB Charlotte viewing area Sunday afternoon and evening. The severe threat will be minimal, although a few heavy showers and storms are possible later in the day. Most totals in the Carolinas remain well under a half-inch before the rain clears out by Monday morning. Next week appears to pick up where we leave off today – sunny, breezy, and dry.
