CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The trial for two suspects accused of killing the owner of a popular Noda restaurant is now underway.
Steve Staples and Terry Connor allegedly shot and killed Scott Brooks during a robbery in December 2019.

Scott Brooks was murdered after arriving at Brooks Sandwich House in the early morning hours in December 2019.
Scott and his twin brother were the owners of Brooks Sandwich House on North Brevard Street.
Scott’s brother still runs the restaurant.
Court documents show both suspects have a lengthy history of violent crime prior to the shooting that killed Brooks.
The restaurant will be closed Monday because of the trial, but will resume hours on Tuesday.
WCCB Charlotte will be inside the courtroom and will give updates tonight at 9 p.m.
