HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Charlotte -Mecklenburg School officials have confirmed that there’s a positive case of Tuberculosis that was discovered at North Mecklenburg High School in Huntersville.
The district sent a letter out to families on Wednesday.
According to the letter, TB Symptoms include persistent cough, fever, bloody sputum, night sweats, weight loss, fatigue, and chest pain.
Typically, TB symptoms are much more severe than the flu or the common cold and the symptoms persist beyond several weeks.
No word on if it was a student or a teacher that contracted the case.
The district says they’re working with CMS health officials and the Meck County Health Dept. to notify those who may have been exposed.
