Splendid stretch continues
A series of cold fronts will bring a few rain chances this weekend, but most locations remain dry over the next 72 hours.
November’s first Tuesday will go a lot like its first Monday – warm, sunny, and comfortable. Highs will rise into the upper 50s, 60s, and lower 70s across the board for our second day of the workweek as a strong ridge of high pressure sets up shop across the Southeast. Expect the warm and sunny trend to continue on Wednesday before a weak cold front sweeps through the Carolinas by Thursday morning. Don’t expect much – if anything – in terms of rain as the front slides through the WCCB Charlotte viewing area, but highs will be knocked down a peg for our penultimate day of the workweek.
Temperatures quickly recover on Friday before a second cold front arrives by the start of the weekend; this system could actually bring a few showers along with it, although most of the moisture will get held up in the mountains. Highs will surge into the mid-70s across the Piedmont and Foothills on Saturday, despite increasing clouds and rain chances. A third storm system will push into the Carolinas by Sunday afternoon, bringing more scattered rain chances and a major cooldown behind it. Highs will likely fall from the 60s and 70s on Saturday and Sunday to the 30s, 40s, and 50s to kick off the new workweek. The first freeze of the season may arrive for many in the Metro next Tuesday morning.
