Amber Alert issued for 10-month-old child abducted in Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, N.C.Β β An Amber Alert was issued Sunday morning after a 10-month-old child was allegedly abducted by a distant family member, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Officials say that the child, Nalaya Crew, was abducted by 19-year-old Michelle Hemphill and 23-year-old Timothy Smith Jr.
Police said the family is concerned Crew is in danger as Hemphill, the distant family member, is currently homeless and has no means to provide for the child.
Hemphill and Smith were last seen getting into a blue minivan near the 6600 block of Monroe Road and are traveling in an unknown direction.
Hemphill is described as a black female that is 5β6β and 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Smith is described as a black male that is 5β4β and 160 pounds with black hair and blue eyes.
