1 person displaced in accidental house fire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – One person has been displaced from their home in west Charlotte after a fire on Friday night, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

Around 10 p.m., firefighters responded to a home on Jennings Street near Newcastle Street.

The fire was controlled in under 15 minutes and was later deemed accidental.

Nobody was injured from the fire, but one person was displaced, and the Red Cross was contacted for assistance.

The fire caused an estimated $77,000 in property loss.
