Mpox cases on the rise in Mecklenburg County
The Mecklenburg County Health Department says Mpox cases are on the rise.
Officials say itβs due to a new strain of the virus. Ten cases have been reported in the Charlotte area since October.
Mpox is primarily spread through close contact with an infected person. Symptoms include fever, aches, lesions, and rash.
There are vaccines available to lower the chances of developing a severe case of the virus. For more information, call 704-336-6500.
