CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation plans to close one lane of a busy south Charlotte interchange to conduct paving operations this week.
The left lane of the U.S. 521 North ramp to the Interstate 485 inner loop is set to close during non-peak daytime travel hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day through Saturday.
The closures are needed for crews to safely complete asphalt paving that will tie into the new I-485 Express Lanes.
Drivers are urged to be mindful of crews working close to the travel lanes near the interchange and are encouraged to consider alternate routes to avoid travel delays.
