STANFIELD, N.C. — The co-founder of a nationally recognized brewery in Charlotte is facing three felony charges after allegedly breaking into a Stanly County home and raping a 13-year-old girl inside.

Stanly County deputies arrested and charged Justin Brigham with statutory rape of a child under the age of 15, first-degree burglary, and indecent liberties with a child.

Brigham, 44, co-founded and co-owned Sycamore Brewing with his wife, Sarah, in 2013. Sycamore has grown to become one of the most prolific breweries in North Carolina and is distributed across seven states.

Sarah released a statement through Sycamore Brewing’s Instagram account Thursday, announcing she is assuming full ownership of the company and that Justin is no longer involved. She also signed the statement with what appears to be her maiden name.
