Man struck and killed by train in southeast Charlotte

Police say a man has been hit and killed by a CSX train in southeast Charlotte.

This happened just before 9:45 a.m. Saturday morning on Monroe Road near Sardis Road North.

Investigators believe 48-year-old Daniel Kotrman was lying on the tracks when he was struck by the train.

The CSX train operator was not believed to be impaired at the time of the crash, according to police.
