Sycamore Brewing will temporarily close to “allow space for healing”
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Sycamore Brewing will temporarily close after its former co-owner was arrested for statutory rape of a child.
Sarah Taylor, the brewery’s owner, announced the move Tuesday. In a letter she wrote the brewery will close on January 5 to, “allow space for processing, healing, and beginning the work of reimagining this community space.” A reopening date has not been announced.
Taylor also announced that she has begun divorce proceedings. Her husband, Justin Brigham, is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in Stanly County who he met online. His bond is currently set at more than $11 million.
