New: Measles case in NC linked to SC outbreak
POLK CO., N.C. – The North Carolina Health Department says a child in Polk County is presumed to have had the measles. The case is linked to the ongoing outbreak in South Carolina. Officials say the unvaccinated child visited the Spartanburg County area before Christmas, and has since recovered. This is the second measles case recorded in North Carolina this year, but it’s the first believed to be related to the ongoing outbreak in South Carolina.
