The measles outbreak in Upstate South Carolina continues to spread.
Nine new cases were reported on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases up to 185. Four of the new cases were connected to household exposures.
The South Carolina Department of Public Health said that 223 people are in quarantine and that three are in isolation.
Below is a breakdown of the ages of the 185 cases:
- Under 5: 40
- 5-17: 123
- 18+: 16
- Minors under 18 (age undisclosed): 6
Health experts say the best way to prevent measles is to get vaccinated.
