CMPD mourns the sudden passing of Officer Michael Miles

Officer Miles joined the CMPD family on October 15, 2012

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WCCB) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department mourns the unexpected passing of Officer Michael Miles.

CMPD wrote in a Facebook post, “Officer Miles joined the CMPD family on October 15, 2012. For over 13 years, he served in the Freedom Division with unwavering professionalism and dedication. Beyond his patrol duties, Officer Miles was a Patrol Training Officer, where he spent years mentoring and shaping the next generation of officers.

Before his time with CMPD, Officer Miles proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Michael leaves behind a loving partner and four children. We ask that you keep his family, friends, and his brothers and sisters in blue in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this unimaginable loss.”

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Fraternal Order of Police says, “Officer Miles suffered a medical event and passed away, he was 39 years old.”
