ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. –Β The N.C. Department of Transportation willΒ close Smith Road in both directionsΒ for about two weeks for drainage maintenance.
The closure is expected to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday and last through the afternoon of Jan. 16.
The department’s bridge maintenance unit will repair a drainpipe under Smith Road at Parks Creek.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, use caution in the area and follow posted detour signs.
