CHARLOTTE, N.C โ Four sections ofย South Tryon Street soon will be milled and resurfaced through a $6 million contract earned by local contractor Blythe Brothers Asphalt Co., LLC.
Approximately 7.8 miles of the roadway will be improved in both directions between Interstate 485 and the Buster Boyd bridge near the South Carolina line.
Contract crews can begin the project as early as Jan. 26 and have it completed by summer 2027.
The contract does not permit lane closures during the day or during major holidays and events at several venues in the city limits.
Most of the work will take place overnight between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
