AAA: Gas prices reach lowest price since March 2021

What you are paying at the gas pump, on average, is the lowest it’s been since March 2021.

AAA says the national per gallon gas price is now $2.81. Meanwhile, GasBuddy projects the lowest prices this year will be drivers along the Gulf Coast and the south.

There are questions about Venezuela’s impact on the oil market. President Trump said the country will turn over up to 50 million barrels of oil to the United States.

However, a GasBuddy analyst tells Forbes Magazine it’s just too early to tell how that could impact gas prices.

According to GasBuddy, regular is sitting at about $2.57 in Charlotte. That’s below the North Carolina average of $2.64. Gas is always cheaper across the border in South Carolina, where it’s sitting at an average of $2.51.
