170 people exposed to measles in Union County
Health officials say more than 170 people are now under quarantine orders after a measles exposure in Union County.
The health department says those people were exposed at Shining Light Baptist Academy in Monroe where an unvaccinated student, who lives in Mecklenburg County, came down with the virus.
Officials believe that child contracted the measles via the ongoing outbreak in South Carolina’s upstate.
So far, none of the people being told to quarantine have come down with a confirmed case of the virus.
