An early morning water line break has shut down Highway 51 in both directions in Pineville, according to the Pineville Police Department.
With the hazardous road conditions and crews actively working to repair the break, Highway 51 is closed inbound and outbound from Downs Road to the South Carolina state line.
Crews are at the scene working to identify the issue and repair the break. There is no timetable for when the road will reopen at this time.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and take alternate routes if traveling.
