Airports scramble to get back on schedule after winter storm

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Flight cancellations and delays continued Monday as airports scramble to recover from that winter storm. According to FlightAware, around 600 flights were cancelled and more than 520 were delayed at Charlotte Douglas Airport on Monday. More than 11,600 flights were cancelled on Sunday.

Traveler Jonathan Pfeffer says, “We waited two days in Germany to get back. And now we’re waiting another day to get home because we have to fly to Texas and can’t get a connecting flight until the morning.”

Last Sunday has now become the worst day for canceled flights since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.
